yr 3 term 1 is over wow. just wanna say.. the feeling i got when walking out after the ama paper was roughly about the same feeling i got when i walked out after FA paper all those terms ago. hahahahaa. which means, not good at all.


anw.. huiying, leonard, jeremy and i went to watch a battle of wits after our ama paper.. it's a good show, very smart and engaging with quite a good storyline. and andrew lau.. needless to say, i'm very much captivated by him.


oh well it's back to another routine of sorts. 2.5 months more, 2.5 months more.

i need money - any sources?

-techno parade-

went to the secret location today to study. after dinner, LN started playing techno music. like music from the cascades, dj sammie, alice deejay, angel city, u get the idea... melwyn would've been proud. he says this kinda music sometimes can provide momentum to mug. i think maybe it gives him the oomph to punch the calculator a bit harder, considering he was studying for QM (now known as MS) paper.

wah the music was gan tiong la.. i couldn't take it after 4 songs..
for someone like me who listens to and definitely prefers coldplay, kings of convenience, the hereafter, death cab for cutie, techno is way, way out of my league. to me, the good kind of loudness is red hot chili pepper, foo fighters, oasis, snow patrol etc.. good charlotte, blink 182, jimmy eat world are about the limit hahaha.

give me nice smooth contemporary alternative rock anytime.

-the importance of using commas-

to anyone out there who aspires to write textbooks in the future, please remember the golden rule of readability:

USE COMMAS. and a sentence that goes on for 4 lines and beyond is not a sentence. it's called a paragraph. please, use shorter sentences. and, comma, them, like, you, mean, it.

really, commas make a whole lot of difference!


anw, i do think that dmitry chaplin from so you think you can dance, season 2 is waaaay cute. pls don't go to other areas of the site if u don't know who's the winner of season 2, the winner's photo is splashed all over.

ok dmitry's photo in that bio section of the website doesn't exactly look nice but when he dances, woah it's sensual, it's attention-grabbing, it's oh-so-hot. i love his waltz, he makes me wanna learn ballroom dancing!! oh man i'd learn ballroom dancing if i can get to dance with artem chigvinsev from season 1, dmitry chaplin or heh, richard gere (from shall we dance)!

ok yes earth to jiahui. anyone knows how to capture screen caps from .avi files? i'll post screen caps of dmitry dancing the waltz just to prove my point!!

-mugger's unhigh-

been staring at nothing but "management control systems" by either robert n. anthony & vijay govindarajan or kenneth a. merchant & wim a. van der stede (2 different textbooks). uhm realised that my ama knowledge is rather inadequate after seeing champion strategist (jem soh)'s self-made notes. wah jem is mugging more than me.. this can't be happening!

so i went on a mugging spree yesterday, mugged in the lib till 2.30am and managed to finish all there is on management compensation and the agency theory. felt like i conquered some mountain man.

hui ying previously mentioned sth about a mugger's high. how can anyone ever get high from mugging??? impossible! momentum, yes. high, def no. how to get high? it's terribly draining. ok maybe it's because much as i'm reading ama from lots of sources, i don't feel like i know how to apply anything. i do understand what i'm reading, just that i cant see how to apply it to strategic planning as of yet.

or maybe i'm just dumb. which doesn't surprise me.

if i can get thru ama and the strategic planning stuff, strategy next term is gonna be a walkover for me lol.


ok enuff break from ama, gotta get back to action controls and what-nots now.


oh we got strategy btw. highest bidder at that. hahaha 1st time i'm the highest bidder at any mod!

didn't i tell u this post is meaningless?

fim paper down. i have quite a number of answers with "none of the above". so i'm like crossing my fingers real hard hahaha! it's like.. i'm kinda sure that the answer is NOTA cos i'd get like 1.0053 for an answer and 1 of his option will be like 1.053 and i'd triple checked and there's no way i could've pressed the calculator wrongly or use the wrong numbers cos it wasn't a complicated calculation and there's only so many times you can press the calculator wrongly. right??? so my conclusion was that it's a trick question. hahha! and well precisely bcos of this reason, i feel rather unsure abt my answer too. where got prof go to such lengths to set questions and in the end the answer is NOTA? hopefully ben is just 1 of those weird profs who like NOTA!!


alrights it's ama full steam now. i'll just cross my fingers for all the other papers.

-counterstriking the cpf on tabula (rasa) with asahi-

had our cpf presentation on friday morning and i think we covered a lot of ground. ben said we pretty much covered the major parts of cpf though during the q&a session, he added some real interesting thoughts which dragged the q&a on for 20 minutes. lol.

studying in the library in the afternoon was a difficult affair cos i only slept 2 hours in the nite morning. finished editing and compiling ama and fiim report only at 4+ in the morning and then i had to sew a dropped button onto my formal jacket at 5 in the morning. how fun! had quite a bad 2-hour sleep, kept having disturbing dreams abt wrong appendices for my fiim report sigh.

let myself be swayed to go to starry nite 4, which turned out to be a real nice event. the guest band, tabula, totally nailed their performance last nite. they played excellent renditions of coldplay's 'god put a smile upon your face', stereophonic's 'dakota', snow patrol's 'chasing cars', oasis' 'champagne supernova', muse's 'time is running out' and their finale, a mix of blink 182's 'all the small things' and blur's 'song 2'.
great stuff. it reminds me why we love rock, and how fun it is to be brought up on a rock culture.

after the concert, the usual suspects began playing counterstrike. it's like their latest craze cos it's easy for someone to host and the rest will all join each other and just shoot whatever it is that they are shooting. apparently, it's very addictive too.

haha ok the asahi and heineken last nite helped me sleep alot better. had a nice dream which was very, very brief. elsewise, i had a dreamless sleep. funny, the last time i had a dreamless sleep, i drank jd coke before i slept. u gotta love alcohol. they help me sleep better.

-taxed-

hit 5km in 38 minutes yday, i'm happy for now.

anw yday was bad smells day. early in the morning, i got squashed in the train by 5 abnn who do not know the meaning of letting people get out of the train before they have space to get it. they literally pushed me further into the train with their stinky bodies when i was already plastered to the door when the train pulled into farrer park station. damn and here i thought sg is a civilised place where ppl don't just simply push their way in. and the thing is that they look like the office types. even the foreign uh, talents, have better manners than them. bastards.

then in the gym, i was next to this guy who gave off an almighty stench of sweat after some time on the treadmill. gosh i didn't dare to take deep breaths at all while working on the treadmill.

ok i shall stop complaining about stenches.

got all my bids for boss except for strategy. sigh it's a headache cos actually strat paper and corp rep paper actually fall on the same day.

and let me state for the record that i haven't listened to a single tax planning class at all this whole sem. i catch snatches here and there but that's about it. i'm gonna have so much fun studying for papers this term...

-step up-

met my 2 dearest girls on friday nite after fim meeting for some spicy ramen at ajisen yummmmy. i love them both alot. bainie, be happy and i'll always support whatever decision u choose to make!
watched 'step up' with kel after that after some persuasion that it's not just another trashy show. it's quite alrite i suppose, it has its funny moments. channing tatum has a great build at the very least. and oh well, dance movies are nice after all, though none can beat 'shall we dance' for me.

anyway. i tot fim meeting on fri afternoon was rather bad cos it was then that i realised that our slides are in a mess and our content is all over the place. strangely, no one seemed to have any issues on that. either that, or we were waiting for each other to comment on it haha.
that said, i do enjoy doing fim project. it's great doing project with jem seah as i already found out last year. this time around, i'm glad i got to do project with joyce, adrian and geri. they're real nice people.

settled boss on friday, hopefully i'll get all my bids in boss 1 (i'm usually quite accurate heh).
tues - MPW with jem, leonard and shane; Strategy (1) with edmund, ray, ln, serene, geri and flea
wed - IE A with ray, yvonne, alvin and reuben; Corp Reporting with jem and leonard
thurs - Analysis of fixed-income investments with hui ying and pearlyn; Strategy (2)
hmmm 5 mods in 3 days, i really cross my fingers and wish for the best during weeks 12 and 13 next sem. not to mention strategy and corp rep paper will fall on the same day. i am so dead.
anw we whacked the biddings for mpw, strat and corp rep cos we can't afford not to get the mods. so yeah, i'm quite confident of getting my mods this time around.


semi-watching chelsea thrash watford 4-0 makes me wonder something. geremi is playing tonite. now i've really forgotten geremi is at chelsea. would u rather be a small-time player, permanent bench duty player at a star-studded club like chelsea or would u rather be a more integral player at a smaller club like watford?

i'd pick watford. i don fancy being a small fish in a big ocean. i don wanna spend the rest of my life wondering what i could've achieved if only i had the chance to play.

-a year ago today-

i can still remember clearly what happened a year ago today. 2 words- CAT project. yes, yvonne, jiahuan, edmund and i were cooped up in some gsr in SIS running macros for our CAT project. overnight. till 6am or so on the 8th of november. yeah i spent the first 6 hours of my 20th year running macros.

i went home at 6am for a shower and a change of clothes, then brought a change of clothes for yvonne, as well as toothbrushes and breakfast with some potent caffeine for the 3 of them on my trip back to school. didn't sleep a wink.

in the end, the report deadline was postponed by a week (which at that time was good cos our model wasn't exactly fine tuned yet). after cat class, i rushed down to twc class where i fought hard to stay awake listening to terence fan.. and then after twc, went down for salsa classes with shireen, jem n joyce. by the end of the day, i was totally bone tired.

lol those were the days where i'd sleep on alternate days.


anyway, i had a papercut on my right thumb yesterday and this morning, i managed to cut my left thumb with a penknife while opening a package. a rusty penknife at that. so i've been surviving on 8 fingers for the whole of today and i've come to realise just how important thumbs are! i took a long time to do these without using my thumbs:
1) sms
2) type (cos no thumb to press spacebar)
3) bathe (cos no thumb to help wash the hair)
4) flip pages (no kidding)
5) take out my contact lenses (cos i usually use thumb and forefinger to pick my lenses out)
see how important the under-rated thumb is!

ok i'm off to watch some dramas. doing my fave thing to kickstart my 21st year lol.

-happy birthday lil bro-

my lil brother turns 18 today. happy birthday lil bro. hope u liked the hoegaarden haha.

had a family dinner at this eatery called kim's place at joo chiat. it's damn good. slightly more pricey than ur neighbourhood zhi cha but the quality of the food is divine. 9 of us ate $230 worth of food hahaha. we had like, steamed fish, drunken prawns, black pepper crab, chilli crab and hotplate venison amongst other things. i'm so, so full now. and i'm a happy, happy girl.

who needs to go gym tmr to feel better abt eating so much today.

anyways. i'm not a very birthday kinda person but turning 21 does have its fun parts. like the angbaos i'm getting from my relatives for eg. hahahaa.

cya 7pm at frujch my frens.. shall update more another time. got sth better to do now heh.

-misreads-

today i've come to a realisation, and i think i feel calm now. which is a good thing. i can now move my mind on to other more important stuffs. like doing my reports, think of what to wear next wed, how much beer to get and oh yeah, when am i going to finally reply some emails properly.

i thought it would be an unwilling awakening but actually, it is more of a welcome awakening.

anyway. this is supposed to be a light-hearted entry so i shall write about something more amusing. this evening in the studio, my friends (huiying n dod) have 'acquired' for me 2 new things - a flirt and a boy-toy. oh man i am highly amused indeed. in a way, i wish i truly have the capabilities to acquire a flirt and a boy-toy i guess. but i don't. so in all honesty, thanks but no thanks, my friends!

i'm actually yawning like mad now but i'm trying to stay awake to catch man utd vs copenhagen later. hopefully, i can witness man utd progressing smoothly to the second phase of champs league. 1 point will be sufficient but hey, wouldn't hurt to get 3 points, will it?

ok i just watched ice age 2 that i got from heyuan. shall go get the devil eats prata the devil wears prada from either jem or jansen, depending on who i see first on friday.
