my life is all about crashing and burning. so as with most things in my life, this is crashing and burning too. oh yes, it's gonna crash and burn. so i guess it's better sooner than later.

finally met edwin for lunch today, and finally got to give him his present that's half a year overdue. eh my heartless ex-twin-who-denied-he-was-related-to-me, i want to meet u cos i wanna catch up with u k. i do NOT have any ulterior motives! and anyway, whatever i want to know, i have my ways of finding them out myself.. hehehe!


today in class.. i learnt how to say a well known phrase in french. it's so simple, i wonder why i didn't think of it at all-

i have my little mini events that perk up my mornings and give me a good start to the day. with that though, i feel like i'm starring in a movie - 007: the spy who stalked me. LOL!
but really, i think i haven't got much time left to star in this movie, guess i better enjoy it while it lasts.

for now, all that has happened, it's enough for me for now.

i finally watched red cliff on friday night. it was a really nice date with yuhui.. and my takeshi kaneshiro of cos. i swear he is the most charming zhuge liang there is, and there will ever be. seeing him on the movie, totally justifies my 10-year crush on him, ever since he was in 神啊 请给我多一点时间. in fact the first few minutes he appeared onscreen in the movie, i was just staring at his face, and i totally did not manage to catch whatever he was saying. HAHAHAHA. i'm lousy!

went for the outdoor movie screening at the national museum on saturday with some frens. we were watching willy wonka and the chocolate factory - the original one with gene wilder. i must say, i really enjoyed this version, i think it's better than the tim burton version. somehow i just feel for charlie and willy wonka more.
after that i met up with the gang at icb.. expecting to be with just ray, ed and ln. but by midnite, there were 5 other guys there and the yang qi was just so heavy. but hahaa for a fren, i can live with that.. and it gives me better reason to stay off beer - i had 2 glasses of red wine and i was feeling pleasantly happy - not high, but just pleasantly happy. so much more effective than other forms of alcohol, and healthier too hahaa.

today, had lunch with yulia and rohana at yulia's place. yulia's this russian classmate at french class and we click pretty well, so we finally had lunch at her place after talking abt it for a long time. it was really nice, having lunch by the pool, talking over wine and then coffee. and we even got to meet her bf and his fren. who are my first 2 cricketer friends. as in, friends who play cricket. even though i know zilch about cricket, only that they bat and run and there's something called wickets, and games go on for hours and hours. haha!


ah well, tmr is monday, the whole routine begins, and here we go again....

went to st james with my colleagues on friday nite. it was my first real foray into st james, definitely my first to dragonfly. i thought i was mentally prepared for the much-famed song and dance routine that the performers will put up, but boy, i was not. it was really surprising and can i say, a really entertaining show of cantopop and mandopop. and sly has a surprisingly good voice actually..

and so it was my 3rd straight boozy weekend, and the mildest of the 3. 1st was the citadels nite where i think 7 or 8 of us demolished 1 whole bottle of scotch amidst other things (and can i say, the scotch neat was fab). next was commencement nite where king's cup n i-have-never resulted in plenty of drinking all round. the nite of st james.. was kinda nothing in comparison. gosh we're such boozers. unhealthy!

that said, i've stayed beer-free for more than 3 months! yeeeahhh!


i watched "about a boy" last nite. i have that movie on my comp for a long time, but only got about to watching it last nite. gosh, it was a gd reminder why i adore hugh grant all these times!

monday comes around once more, and here we go again.

i have done plenty of projects and written plenty of reports throughout my 4 years in smu, and have achieved some pretty good grades for some of them - some of my best achievements include strategy, international economics, corporate reporting and yes, bgs (hey it got me an overall A- fr caroline!). but i think... the best of the lot, the one with the highest ROI - return on investment - has got to be the report for advanced financial accounting.

the topic was on the impact of subprime crisis on a financial institution. our prof gave us a 3-page description of the project, 1 describing the nature of the project and 2 pages detailing the questions we have to address in our 4000-word report. being the year 4s that we were, we chose UBS as our target and did the project in a relatively short time but man, the result spoke for itself.

firstly- prof gave us an A+ for the project, calling it a "well-researched and matured analysis". HAHAHA we didn't expect that!

secondly- leonard used it for his interview. his interviewers apparently deemed the report to be worth a 9% return over 4 days (super good showing if u convert it to per annum return!), and leo got the position. congrats leo!

thirdly- i used it for my interview. my interviewer told me to "tell him what i know about the subprime crisis". so i gave him the verbal equivalent of the afa report, plus elements of fair value accounting. apparently, after the interview, he repeated my response to my then-potential colleagues, and said that it was an "excellent response".

hahaha maybe after 4 years in uni, in one of our last projects, we finally wrote an industry-worthy report. cheers.

i've officially unofficially graduated from smu. sounds confusing? hahahhaa.
commencement was on the sat just passed and since i've been through the whole ceremony, i've "officially" graudated! BUT because i graduated from modified term, it means my official transcript is not ready yet hence in the eyes of employers, i'm still an unofficial graduate.

it's kinda cool actually.. how many can say that they've officially unofficially graduated from a university? phwoar!!


anw.. commencement went well.. initially i thought i will be quite bo chup about taking photos cos i was feeling a bit anti-social but ok, the camera went clicking alot soon enough..

BIG THANKS to my 3 darlings, my 3 loyal supporters who turned up with the hugest sunflower i've ever seen! thanks my dears, it really meant a lot to me to have u 3 girls there!


gathered at jem's place at nite to play poker, bluff dice, bluff, king's cup, i-have-never.. basically, anything to make ppl drink a lot. it was great fun, esp king's cup, that's always bound to be hilarious. i have some videos, will try to upload them soon.

sun.. we went back to old smu campus at bukit timah to take photos! it was very nostalgic going back there.. we took a lot of hilarious shots as well cos the guys were just in tshirt n berms n slippers wearing the gowns..

have lots of photos that i'll be uploading to facebook at least. will put some up here if i'm not too lazy.. but i am feeling lazy now hehee.

aujourd'hui, j'ai fait la connaissance du plus sexy des chauves! wah! il est professeur de français à AF hehe. ce soir, il était dans la salle de classe en face de nous. à 7 heures, je suis presque entré sa classe donc il m'a dit (en anglais) "sorry we changed classrooms today. your room is opposite".

ma salle de classe pour ce soir a une porte verre transparent. alors, je peux regarder tout qui est à l'extérieur.... et je le regarde souvent. il est assez mignon hahaha!

après, quand je partais, il m'a souri et dit "au revoir".. hahaha.. trop bien!

today, i met the sexiest balding man! fwah! he is a french teacher at AF. tonight, he was in the classroom opposite us. at 7pm, i almost entered his class so he told me (in english): "sorry, we changed classrooms today. your room is opposite."

my classroom for the night has a transparent glass door. thus, i can see everything/everyone that is outside.. and i see him often. he is quite cute (thou not in the classically cute kinda way)!

after class, when i was leaving, he smiled at me and said "au revoir"*. hahhaa.. too good!

not much to talk about work since all i've been doing is reading, but official on-the-job training starts tmr, so we'll see how things go.

went to the gym for the first time in a loooong time yday and man, my stamina is like shit now. ran jogged for 3.5km and was on the stationary bike for 15 mins (ard 7km) and i'm totally dead. not good! but i was just thinking that i havent been seeing smu ppl ard (aside from the usual gang), esp since now i'm at millenia walk area.. but last nite alone, i must have bumped into at least 5 familiar faces in the gym.


anyways. i try to keep my days occupied with stuff other than work. and so my evenings are broken up into gym, french class and friday+saturday. today in french class, we were learning more in-depth about sentence structure through an intentionally badly-phrased song. we had to conjugate them properly and re-phrase them.
