sometimes, i really still am astounded by the way things are and are not in the space of 1 year. 1 year can make such a difference. yeah i guess right about 1 year.
yesterday i read an email and immediately deleted it. internally, i scorned at it and it was just pure reflex action that i deleted it. it was only after i deleted it that i realised i had deleted it with such vengeance.

sometimes i feel that i am a terrible person. maybe that's why i can never get what i want in life. maybe that's why i always feel like i'm stuck in limbo.


anyways.
yesterday i was on the phone with this guy from london. man i wouldn't mind braving a phone call everyday if it means i can listen to his wonderful accent. LOL.


yesterday we wound up at durty nelly's for drinks for anna's birthday. happy birthday my dear.
the singer there was actually quite good, she sounded like alanis morissette when she sang "hand in my pocket", she sounded like amy winehouse when she sang "rehab", she sounded like duffy when she sang "mercy"... u get the idea. the band is actually quite nice, but i think being across the road from balaclava, they get the spillovers like us haha.


whee it's a public hol on monday. =)


oh i just took a french test today and it was very very difficult. it was by far the most difficult test i had taken. but it was also rather amusing on hindsight. there was this listening comprehension part where the context was about a man bringing his dog to work. and then part 2 of the exercise asked for me to suggest a suitable title for the scenario.

i wanted to write "do not bring the dog to the office" which would translate as "ne pas apporter le chien au bureau".
instead, i mis-spelled it as "ne pas porter le chien au bureau" - which literally translate to............
"do not wear the dog to the office".

i bet the examiner will have a good laugh when seeing that. but oh well..... things like these do happen haha.

went for a friend's housewarming pre-party last friday. pre-party cos they are still gonna renovate the house and when it's done, they're gonna throw a full party. man the house is at the top 2 levels of this old tower near clarke quay... and it's got a swimming pool and sauna at the top level. so i guess it qualifies as a penthouse definitely. a really old penthouse, but a penthouse nonetheless. wooooooot.

anyways. he's french so there were a number of french people at the party. and guess who i saw! jerome! what a small small SMALL world!
jerome was the president of cultures connection, the intl students club at esc rouen where i was on exchange last year. he came to smu for his own exchange and liked SG so much that now he's here to work for 2 years at least.
and i met him at a housewarming party! and he stays in the same building!
quel coïncidence!!

yeah so further proves my point... sg is a very small place!


work's going both ways right now.. for one things are clearing up and the new platform is moving much better. but for another, i'm on this seriously huge learning curve and i'm clawing my way up. grrrrrrrrrrowllllllll.


anws i managed to get off early, abt 7pm today and i went to shop around suntec and i wanted to splurge on shoes and shades but for the life of me, i can't find anything to my fancy. there's this pair of aldo shades that sit quite nicely on my non-existent nose, but they are purple tinted and i don't like purple tinted shades so much. argh what's this....................


but other than that, it's ok... many things could be better but it's ok, i suppose. can't be too greedy and have too many things going at once i suppose.


on my way home, i was listening to the only song i have from micky green. and oh i was transported back there again.


And oh, I know that we've got better days
And oh, I'm sure that we will conquer the world

my wireless router went kaput last weekend so i have been without internet for more than a week.. i've only just figured i could connect the modem directly to my laptop and bypassing the router altogether. but not surprising since i hardly use the computer when i am at home.
anyways. even the guy at the call centre in india couldn't figure out what's wrong with my router. sigh.


it's been 3 weeks since my last post, but actually things have been zooming past me in a blur such that i cant remember most of my life. just some random bits-

edmund's bday - which conveniently fell on the eve of a public holiday. we had dinner at iguana with magari-TAH. hoho. and some really interesting shots for the birthday boy, including one with jalepeno! then headed to attica for more drinks for the bday boy. not bad, quite a fun nite on the whole.

the day after - it was a public holiday, but i had to go back to work. cos it's a quarter end. man... month end, quarter end, year end.. all doesn't sound too good for me! bahhh.

french class - if you think doing english comprehension sucks, try doing it in french. it was a simple passage but i really thought it could kill! and then yesterday in class, i got reminded that the end of term test is 2 weeks away... WHAT!! this time, really no time to study already. oh well...

tomorrow onwards will be a really new challenge for me, i'm quite "scared" in a way, yet rather looking forward to it in a way.. it will be a test of how strong i can be, so fingers crossed, i can get through it. we shall see. but yet, the next 1 or 2 months into the near future should set the pace for the road ahead.
but have heart! another public holiday is coming up soon (27 oct).. and then i'll be on compliance leave! yayyyyy i'm looking forward to it!


to my frens, sorry if i havent been keeping up my promise to meet up with you, i'm just trying my darndest best to stay afloat here... till then....................
