and oh yes, when we went to the 17 ringgit ktv, we found the perfect song for us when playing blackjack. it's coldplay's "the hardest part".
And the hardest part
Was letting go, not taking part
Was the hardest part
And the strangest thing
was waiting for that bell to ring
It was the strangest start
I could feel it go down
It is sweet I could taste in my mouth
Silver lining the clouds
Oh and I...
I wish that I could work it out
And the hardest part
Was letting go, not taking part
You really broke my heart, oh...
And I tried to sing
But I couldn't think of anything
That was the hardest part, oh... oh...
I could feel it go down
You left the sweetest taste in my mouth
Your silver lining the clouds
Oh and I...
Oh and I...
I wonder what it's all about
I wonder what it's all about
Everything I know is wrong
Everything I do, it just comes undone
And everything is torn apart
Oh and it's the hardest part
That's the hardest part
Yeah that's the hardest part
That's the hardest part
oh yeah, the hardest part was letting go not taking part....
and in case u r wondering, the 5 big coldplay fans have yet to buy the viva la vida tour tickets cos it's a bit pricey and genting din manage to sponsor our tickets. oh well maybe the tickets have been sold out by now.... we will stick with playing mj while listening to coldplay...............

just got back from genting not too long ago and god help me, but i've found my latest addiction..... that's right, blackjack. omg.
it was acty my 1st trip to the casino since i turned legal age and after some stories by both ln and edmund, i was sold on the idea of trying my hand at the blackjack tables. to the uninitiated,
casino blackjack is different from our chinese new year kind of blackjack. in casino, all players play against the banker and not against each other. if everyone on the table plays according to the basic strategy, we can all tilt the probabilities by a bit to our favour.
and playing with the 3 guys, we are a naturally very noisy table. each of us have some crazy idiosyncratic action:
- ln insisted that his mum was his fortune goddess and he said that this particular cny tunes was starting to play in his head; he hums the tune a bit
- ed picked up on the tune after a while and started to continue humming it at the start of each round
- ray began to wiggle his fingers and verbalised what he wanted his card to be when the croupier is dealing his hand; and proceeded to curse the croupier's face card.
- after some rounds of losing, i took my elbows off the table and immediately started winning. so, i made sure i kept elbows away ALL the time
- and of cos, when we want the croupier to bust, we will all shout "ah pek" (picture card) tgr. it adds to the atmosphere and the fun i swear.
i was acty down by quite a bit by sat nite, it just wasn't a good 2 days for me at all. my streak was up down down / up down down down / up down down down down / up down down down down down down down........ in fact i was quite demoralised by the sat nite. i stopped playing at midnite and went back to my room, took a walk in the nice cold weather, resigned myself to the loss and vowed to cut my losses and not play the next day. then i took a long hot shower and went to sleep. i acty slept quite well.
the next day, i was controlling my urge to take out more ringgits and start playing. then my parents appeared (they came along for the trip to get out of the country) and gave me 200 ringgit and told me to just enjoy the last few hours in the casino.. i took it as a sign..
- at 12.20pm, i changed my 1st 100 ringgit and promptly lost it by 12.30pm (meaning i lasted abt 4 games).
- i decided to wait it out.. i go and upgrade my genting card, walk ard the casino then came back to the table.
- sometime before 1pm, ray offered his seat to me. i sat down on his pocket with him still in play and we start to win a bit. the crowd started to gather behind us.
- we begin to win a bit here and there and at around 1.15pm or so, i changed my last 100 ringgit, hoping to enter at the right time and catch a streak. i shared a pocket with ln.
- we begin to notice that our pocket was going on a trend of up down / up down / up down and we upped and downed our bets accordingly. it worked for a while and boosted our confidence. then the trend went a bit haywire and we started to fix it at 50 ringgit per bet each. we were winning a bit. by then it was about 2pm.
- we went on quite a small streak, maybe up down / up up down / up up down.
- croupier changed at about 2.20pm, ln took whatever he has recovered and left the table cos for the past 2 days, each new croupier usually starts on a winning streak. ed and i were left on the table. i had a good feeling and i stuck around. by then my 100 ringgit had become 250 or 300 ringgit.
- new croupier deals and i hit 21. then i hit a blackjack. i hit some strong suits. the croupier busted a few times. i hit another blackjack on a split. basically, i was invincible. my streak went up up up down / up up up up up up.... each hand was exhilarating. there was a particular hand, we went for a double down, and ed acty had 450 ringgit in my pocket. the croupier busted marginally (22 or 23 points). we almost had a heart attack before the exhilaration set in. it was madness.
- my streak was so good, random aunties i din know were calling me "leng loi" (pretty girl / smart girl) and praising my luck.
- and my fave hand: i didnt have good base cards (12 i think), i hit and got ace (13 pts), i hit again and got 2 (15 points), then i just kept repeating "6, 6, 6, 6" and i hit again.. and i got 6! 21 points on a 5-card hand, 1.5 times payout. wah i think i punched the air and was just "yeeeeeaaaahhhhhh". the auntie sitting next to me was tried to touch my lucky hands. it was crazy.
- i won a few more games and finally at abt 2.45pm, i busted one hand. that was my sign, i took my money and left the table.
- by then, my 100 ringgit became 200 ringgit (can repay my parents), and the 200 ringgit became 600 ringgit. so i recovered 400 ringgit of my losses. i was damn happy even though overall, i still lost. but the feeling, the experience... damn exciting.
and the part where i got the greatest kick??
it's that each time i enter the casino, the security person insists on checking my age. MUAHAHAHHAA.

i've been attending pilates - it's been only 3 weeks so far, but i feel like my body is already being stretched like never before. i've been doing so much flexing and crunching, i think i think i'm stretching muscles that i never knew existed - the
oblique, the
deltoid, the
lower back and one of my weakest points, the
hamstring.
everytime i stretch my hamstring, i feel like it's gonna give way soon. but i think i need the exercises to strengthen my weak knees and hamstring. gonna be a slow process; i don't wanna strain them too much cos they are so injury prone..
gosh i swear my oliques and my deltoids are waging an internal war. it hurts when i cough/sneeze and it hurts when i type for too long. bahhhhh.
oooh that said, i won $26 playing mj over the weekend muahahhahahaa... my luck was so good, it was unbelievable! let's hope i can carry it over to this weekend.....

i've officially had enough steamboat for the next 3 months i think.
steamboat with my cedar mates, it's really incredible that the last time we met was nearly 2 years ago. has it been THAT long??? it feels like we met not too long ago as well..
then steamboat with zhichao and weijian just now.. i think my stomach is on fire now after that herbal-tasting ma la soup base..
i think it's quite bo hua for me at steamboats. while the guys are whacking all the meat and seafood, i just keep eating things like veggie, sausages, mushrooms and... tofu. hahaha... but i'm damn full now, and yes my stomach still feels on fire.
yoohoooo going to genting next weekend.... huat ah!!

no. 1100
over the past 2 or 3 weeks, i:
- watched 2 movies, 1 of which was excellent and the other, well, had the potential to be excellent but fell short (in my opinion).
milk was excellent with sean penn and red cliff 2 could've been better. i watched milk with jem and john at cine and i was wondering how come all the guys (and there were a lot of them) in the theatre seem to know each other. then when we all got into the same lift, i realised why they all came to watch milk together. what a moment.
- drowned my mouse and backspace button in the cheng ting i splashed over them
- fell sick (again!) during cny. it started on the 1st nite of cny, then ended with a fever on the 3rd nite.
- went to jem's place on fri for steamboat and lou hei, then playing rock band on xbox. in between, we saw nadal beat verdasco in a hard fought semi final. then we gambled on in-between and also on this ridiculous japanese kid's toy that jq bought and jem got during the xmas gift exchange. it was so ridiculous that it was funny, and the best part was, we turned that game into a gamble too.
- met some BE ppl for dinner, then headed to anna's where we played taboo and cluedo. taboo was seriously hilarious, with the top prize going to this word:
yi quan: galaxy (followed by silence)
us: .....
yi quan: universe (followed by silence)
us: .....
us: more words la!
yi quan: (still silence)
yi quan: the nerds last time..
us: kuku! geek! toot! gong kia!
yi quan: very bad dress sense..
edmund: ah tiong!
xue ling: obiang!
yi quan: yes! first part correct!
us: ?????!!!?!???!!!!!
kelvin: TIME!!!!
and guess the answer.........
it's "orbit".
HAHHAHAHAAA
gotta give him credit for creativity though!
